Yesterday, the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, accused 23-year-old rapper Morgenstern of drug dealing on the Internet.
Morgenstern today sells drugs, essentially on social media. Involves a huge number of our youth in its sphere of communication,
– he said at the conference “The Role of Law in Ensuring Human Well-Being”.
Today it became known that the singer, together with his wife Dilara, left Russia and went to Belarus.
However, his departure, it seems, is not connected with the accusations on the part of Bastrykin – the musician's concert director said that Morgenstern is scheduled to perform in the neighboring state.
There is, yes, one event planned in Belarus. This is a private event, I'm not ready to tell you anything now,
– he said in an interview with the Daily Storm.
After yesterday's statement by Alexander Bastrykin, the rapper's lawyer Sergei Zhorin said that Morgenstern does not sell drugs, since this is “not his field of activity.” Zhorin also expressed concern that the officials of the department may consider the words of their boss as a call to action.
What we think, how we will react, is of secondary importance here – it is more important how Bastrykin's subordinates will react to it. As much as they take it as a call to action,
– he said.
In the summer, Morgenstern already had problems due to accusations of drug propaganda in video clips – he was fined 100 thousand rubles. A statement on the rapper was written by former State Duma deputy Dmitry Nosov, who demanded to check the clips “Rosé Wine – 2” and Family. The Safe Internet League also asked the Prosecutor General's Office to check the singer's work for drug propaganda.
Morgenstern is consistently engaged in the promotion of drugs among children,
– said the organization.
Morgenstern did not admit his guilt in drug propaganda, and his lawyers said they would appeal the decision. Nevertheless, he agreed to pay the fine.
I was tried today for the lines that I did not sing. I was found guilty, and I will pay 100 thousand rubles to the Russian treasury,
– he said.
Another video of the singer for the song “New Wave”, which he recorded with DJ Smash, also got it. This time the drugs had nothing to do with it – the feelings of the believers were offended, since in the video the musicians appeared in the guise of Catholic priests and threw a party in the church.
The rapper himself has repeatedly admitted in many interviews that he used to use drugs, but, according to him, he gave up the addiction long ago.
During an interview with Morgenstern, journalist Yuri Dud was also accused of promoting drugs, despite the fact that he inserted a plate with a text about the dangers of drugs.
