Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli-Mozzi
Today, the 33-year-old granddaughter of Elizabeth II, Princess Beatrice, became a mother for the first time – she gave birth to a daughter from her 37-year-old husband Edoardo Mapelli-Mozzi, as she said on Twitter.
I am delighted to share the news of the happy birth of our daughter on Saturday 18 September at 11.42 pm at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.
– she wrote and thanked the clinic staff.
The newly-made mother has not yet shared other details and has not yet revealed the name of the baby.
Beatrice's pregnancy became known in May. For the granddaughter of the Queen of Great Britain, the daughter became the first child, and her husband has a five-year-old son Christopher from a previous relationship with American architect Dara Huang.
Representatives of Buckingham Palace said that Beatrice and the newborn are doing well, and noted that the princess, along with her husband, really wants to introduce her daughter to her older brother.
Beatrice and Edoardo got married a year ago. Initially, they planned to arrange a magnificent celebration, but the circumstances known to everyone interfered with their plans. As a result, the couple's wedding was modest and took place in the circle of those closest to Windsor Castle.
The couple's daughter is ranked 11th in line to the British royal throne.
