George and Amal Clooney
Once an enviable Hollywood bachelor, George Clooney is now an exemplary family man – a loving husband and a caring father. In a new interview on Mark Maron's podcast, the 60-year-old actor revealed that he is happiest at home, surrounded by his family. However, according to him, before meeting with Amal, his views on life were completely different.
I didn't want to get married and I didn't want to have children. And then this extraordinary person entered my life, and I just fell madly in love. From the minute I met her I knew it would be different
– he admitted.
Clooney added that he had met many smart and talented women, but when he met Amal, he felt that she was created just for him.
I feel the same as Amal
– added the actor.
The couple have been married for seven years and are raising four-year-old twins Ella and Alexander. The actor admitted that, despite the fact that he and Amal never discussed marriage (the actor simply proposed to his beloved), they discussed the decision to have children.
We were at a friend's house, and they had a child – noisy and obnoxious. Then I thought, “Damn it!” Amal and I went outside. She had never thought about children before, but then she said: “We are very lucky. It looks like we need to share this happiness with someone else.”
– he remembered.
Then they both agreed to try to have children.
George called this conversation very emotional. When Amal became pregnant with twins, Clooney was dumbfounded.
I was kind of ready for only one thing, you know? But now I am very glad that they have each other, especially during a pandemic,
– he said.
Now George wants to spend as much time with his family as possible and is even ready to sacrifice his career for this.
I spoke to Amal and said that we need to rethink the way we live because we both work hard,
– noted the actor.
