So, the Daily Star reported that in the book Emily is going to talk about the sexual abuse she experienced at the age of 15. Ratajkowski was forced to have sex by her 16-year-old boyfriend named Owen, while Emily was still a virgin.

Why 15-year-old I didn't scream at the top of my lungs then? Who taught me to be silent? I hated myself. I didn't tell anyone what happened to Owen that weekend. It was sex without consent. I was so young. I didn't even have sex before

– recalls Ratzkowski about this terrible episode from his life in the book “My Body”.

Previously, Emily Ratzkowski has already publicly talked about the sexual abuse she experienced in 2012. Then the model participated in a candid photo shoot for Darius magazine, the author of this shooting was American photographer Jonathan Leder. The shooting took place right at Leder's house: first, the photographer offered young Emily (at that time she was 20 years old) to drink wine to relax, took several pictures of the model in her underwear, and then invited her to be naked in front of the camera. Further events took place for Ratzkowski as if in a fog due to the amount of alcohol he had drunk.

I don't remember any kisses, but I distinctly remember how his fingers suddenly ended up inside me,

– shared memories of Emily.

According to Ratzkowski, she abruptly interrupted Leder's actions, but nevertheless spent the night with him and returned home only in the morning. Emily clarified that Jonathan was very rude to her and hurt her physically.

A few days before the book's release, Emily Ratzkowski also spoke with The Time and took part in a photo shoot for the publication. In a conversation with the editor of the newspaper, Emily told what thoughts prompted her to write the book, and also shared her view on her attitude to the laws of the modern fashion industry. Ratajkowski admitted that on the rise of her career, she was very happy about her success, until she realized that in the fashion sphere, her body is perceived exclusively as a commodity.

I was a prime example of someone who excelled in their field, commodifying their image, body and sexuality. But if I was so powerful and popular, why did I feel unhappy?

– asks Ratzkowski.

The star also admitted that, being a successful model, she realized that her body no longer belongs to her. After some time, Emily also realized that if she refused to fulfill some of the client's requirements, then she would very quickly find a replacement. These thoughts forced her to reconsider her attitude towards the industry as a whole.

In the book “My Body”, Emily Ratzkowski, who became a mother for the first time this year, also shared the details of her pregnancy and childbirth. The model admitted that the waters had drained from her six days before the start of labor, but at first she hid it from her husband. By the time she was admitted to the hospital, Emily was already in severe pain.

The pain was overwhelming. It penetrated me through and through and spread throughout my body. The contractions were incessant, and when one of them reached its peak, I was seized with panic. I desperately wanted the pain to end, but I was trapped. I gritted my teeth. I was worried about whether we could handle the baby. Our lives were at stake, but there was nothing I could do to keep us safe

– told Ratajkowski about childbirth in a previously published excerpt from the book “My Body”.
