36-year-old Ekaterina Varnava became the heroine of the new release of Katerina Gordeeva's YouTube show “Tell Gordeeva”. In this conversation, the actress and star of the Comedy Woman show spoke not only about the premiere of her new cabaret show “Absolutely Naga”, but also about her relationship with her 29-year-old lover Alexander Molochnikov and her dreams of children and family.
So, Barnabas told what problems she had to face at the very beginning of her relationship with Alexander Molochnikov (the couple has been together for about a year and a half. – Ed.). According to the actress, many netizens under their joint photos with Alexander began to remind of their seven-year age difference, which gives rise to complexes in her in this regard:
I post a photo with him, and everyone writes: “Handsome son.” I even go up to the mirror and think: well, straight son? Well, maybe at least a younger brother? Well, just a son? No. I don't seem to look that old.
Catherine admitted that at the first stage of the relationship it was very difficult for them to get along with Alexander because of his character and creative ambitions. Due to misunderstandings, the star couple even often had quarrels:
There were different moments. I have never lived with such a person, really. He is very interesting, unpredictable, very changeable in his mood. I'm quite patient, but there is a person nearby whose mood changes from a high point to a very low point, and something can provoke him … No, he is not crazy, of course, but he communicates with people, also with actors, they are also different are. This is an ordeal. The actor must be convinced or rebuilt. This is a very powerful emotional cost. And I, too, seem to be spent. I have another job. Maybe he thinks I'm suffering from nonsense, but I also have a job. At first there were these moments when I said: “Hey, what are you doing?”.
Now Catherine and Alexander are in absolute harmony. Both devote most of their time to work, and when they meet at home in the evenings, they manage to really miss each other. Barnabas emphasizes that she and her lover support each other and try not to provoke quarrels once again – the actress considers this approach to be the ideal formula for a relationship. Catherine admits that she dreams of a real family with Alexander and children.
Today I imagine: this family will be with this person. What will we have? God forbid, a child and this dog. We will be walking with such a big friendly family. I like these thoughts. They inspire me. We are talking about it. Yes, he shares it. But I cannot speak for him. If he had sat in this place, then perhaps he would have answered differently. How I feel and how I hear from him, of course, he shares it. Otherwise we wouldn't be together
– the actress shared her thoughts.

Ekaterina admitted that she sincerely admires her boyfriend's directorial work, while he was not delighted with her performances as part of Comedy Woman:
He looked at Comedy Woman once and said, “Well, that's it.” And I watched all of his performances and said that it was amazing. Because it's really amazing. But I think Comedy Woman is cool too.
In response, Gordeeva asked Barnabas:
So now, when you bark the dog, does he like it? (In the play “Bulba. Feast” by Alexander Molochnikov, Ekaterina plays a dog. – Ed.)
Then Catherine explained what exactly Molochnikova did not suit in her play on the Comedy Woman show:
He didn't like the role assigned to me there. He said, “You are not screaming in your own voice. In the hoarse voice of a bird.” He doesn't like me that way.

Catherine admitted that her mother is not yet familiar with Alexander, although she watches with interest all the programs with his participation and, on the whole, is very pleased with her daughter's chosen one:
She immediately said, “The genetics are amazing.” No, well, she actually began to take an interest: there are some articles about him, somewhere he had an interview on the Kultura TV channel. She just doesn't fit. And she says that we should all have dinner already, because we haven't had dinner with my mom yet. I say yes, we must. But she says: “Now I cannot, I am very busy at work now, I have a medical examination, I cannot. Come on in a month.” So we have been living for a year now: “Come on in a month.”
In a conversation with the presenter, Ekaterina Barnava also recalled her school years. As a child, about seven years old, the star lived with her parents in Germany, where her father then served. After returning from Germany, Catherine continued her studies at a Russian school, where she immediately faced bullying. Classmates for a long time did not accept Barnabas, they made fun of her, mocked her, and even beat her.
The first thing that I was told at school when the teacher introduced me: “Meet Katya Varnava.” Firstly, for some reason my surname caused some unpleasant whisper. I remembered this very well: “She came to us from Germany.” Right there a child, my age, somewhere from the back of the desk said the word “fascist”. The child said this to another child for the whole class. The teacher ignored this and pretended that it was not. But I heard it very clearly. There were incidents when they beat me. For resistance. For not allowing herself to be insulted. For the fact that I did not give the things that I tried to take away. Accordingly, received for this,
– Ekaterina remembered how she became a victim of bullying.
