The BBC Russian Service has published an investigation into how Russian movie stars are losing their jobs because of their political stance. In an interview with the publication, representatives of the film industry said anonymously that the Gazprom-Media holding updated the stop list last winter, which included Alexandra Bortich, Varvara Shmykova, Pavel Derevyanko, Alexander Pal, Yana Troyanova, Semyon Treskunov and other actors. BBC sources claim that the actors began to be denied roles, and also began to cut scenes with them from previously filmed projects.

According to insiders, the main reason for this was the active civic position of the above Russian actors: all of them at one time supported the opposition leader Alexei Navalny. According to the publication, after the publication of a video in which Varvara Shmykova tearfully expresses concern about Navalny's health after his poisoning, she lost a large number of offers and advertising contracts.

The signal was clear: “If you go to rallies, you won't play.”

– told the publication one of the producers of “Gazprom-Media”.

According to the newspaper, Varvara Shmykova, hoping for the return of job offers, even for a short time “went underground” and is not yet eager to communicate with the press. According to rumors, Fyodor Bondarchuk even tried to put in a word for Shmykova and Bortich, but this did not change the situation:

Everyone expects that she will be tortured for another year – and returned to her place. But in winter, the tension was such that even Bondarchuk could not agree.

According to rumors, her lover Yevgeny Savelyev, whose father is a United Russia deputy, is helping to negotiate with the media holding Alexandra Bortich. Earlier, the actress told Yuri Dudyu that an influential father-in-law cannot in any way influence her desire to express her political position.
